International Sports Jamboree

  • North Bend State Park 202 North Bend State Park Road Harrisville, WV, 26362 United States (map)

The International Sports Jamboree was started in 1978 by the Telephone Pioneers, who were committed to providing sporting events and fellowship for the visually impaired and those with mobility challenges.

Over the last 40+ years with the assistance of the WV Division of Tourism and Parks staff at North Bend State Park, their Canadian friends, and their many volunteers, the event has witnessed thousands of young people visit and participate.

The Sports Jamboree is set for Friday-Sunday, July 19-21, 2024

Participants must be between the ages of 8-40 and they must have a mobility issue or a visual problem, which includes those who are legally blind and those who require the use of any type of wheelchair, crutches or a walker.

Several participants have severe latex allergies, so we need everyone’s help in not bringing balloons to any Jamboree venue.

There is a no smoking policy at the Amphitheater and the Pavilion. You may smoke in other areas as long as it is away from our participants.

All traffic going up the hill to the cabins must turn left at the top so that the vans can load and unload participants easily. Please do not park on the road. The road must be kept clear for proper traffic flow.

Van drivers will be wearing yellow shirts and caps with staff written on them.

Saturday night talent show participants are asked to limit their performance to one song each.
