The Cairo & Grant District History Day is set for Saturday, May 25.
The event features the recording of oral histories, which will be submitted to the Library of Congress American Folklore Center to preserve memories of Cairo.
Doors for the event, organized by Mark Goudy and Dean Six, will open at 9 am with oral histories being recorded from 10 am-3 pm.
“If you can attend please send a note on Facebook expressing your desire to participate in some way,” said Dean Six.
The Facebook page is available by searching for “Cairo & Grant District History Day.”
“If you wish to be active in making this happen, and I’m not using the word committee or volunteer, please drop me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org,” Six added.
“Abandoned PKB” will be at the event to record oral histories.
A question and answer period will be made available prior to the event.
