Peking Restaurant, named after the capitol city in China, was opened in April 2006 by Julie Chen. Julie runs the business with the help of her husband and her father-in-law. Julie and her family were born in China and she displays pictures in the restaurant of her traditional Chinese marriage.
The walls are also hung with other family pictures and images of Julie’s daughter. A mural, which was painted by Julie’s friend Lisa and features pandas and the Great Wall of China, also adorns Peking’s inner walls. Outside, Julie and her family have added oriental decorations and a small flower garden.
